Absolutely. If you're careful with your stuff (and I'm almost obnoxiously careful with anything I own), you shouldn't have a problem. Minor nicks and scratches are much easier to get on the body of the phone than the glass. I've dropped my phones a few times each year, so I feel more comfortable with a protector.
